Injectables

What is Injectables?

Injectables can be used to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of ageing on the skin. They need to be administered by a skilled and professionally trained medical professional and can likened to an artform, whereby specific formulations are strategically injected in the face or body for rejuvenation and refinement. The aim is to enhance the patient’s natural beauty without resorting to surgical measures.

Botulinum Toxin

What is Botulinum Toxin?

By using a muscle relaxing agent that is injected into muscles, we are able to subtly soften lines and wrinkles caused by dynamic facial movement, such as talking, smiling, frowning, and chewing.

The most common areas of concern include: furrows between the brows, creases on forehead, crow’s feet around the eyes, droopy eyebrows and lines around the lips. This treatment can also be used to treat repetitive neck spasms (cervical dystonia) and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).

Treatment Process:

Duration of treatment

Injectables treatment takes a few minutes, depending on area being treated. No anesthesia is required.

Results

It takes 7-14 days to take full effect.

Downtime

Minimal with slight bruising and swelling for a few days after the procedure.

Maintenance

Results will last 6-9 months.

Dermal Fillers

What is Dermal Fillers?

Biocompatible hyaluronic acid fillers are injected to remove wrinkles from the middle and lower face, correct nasolabial folds, augment lips, improve the appearance of scars, enhance volume and restore the youthful 3-dimensional contour of the face.

Hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body, helps retain water in the tissue and promote the natural production of collagen, which supports the structure of the skin, for a smoother, plumper, more youthful appearance.

Dermal Fillers Process:

Duration of treatment

5-30 minutes per area treated. A topical numbing cream is used and has to stay on for 30 to 45 minutes before the treatment commences. Some injectables include a numbing agent to reduce discomfort.

Results

Immediate, with continued improvement over the next month.

Downtime

Minimal with slight bruising and swelling for a few days after the procedure.

Maintenance

Results will last 12-18 months.

Sculptra

What is Sculptra?

This type of dermal filler uses FDA-approved poly-L-lactic acid to reduce deep wrinkles, creases, and folds in your skin. The Poly-L-lactic acid is a collagen stimulator that absorbs in the body in a few days after treatment to encourage cells to produce more collagen – providing structure, support and strength to skin, connective tissue, bones, and cartilage.

It is clinically approved to treat smile lines and wrinkles around the nose, mouth, and chin. Sculptra was originally developed to restore facial volume due to ageing or illness. It elevates recessed areas of the skin, redefining and softening contours, and is therefore beneficial for treating sunken cheeks, deep folds and indentations caused by fat loss (lipoatrophy) in people living with HIV.

The Sculptra Process:

Duration of treatment

30-60 minutes.

Maintenance

Three sessions booked a month apart. Results will last two years.

Skinboosters

What is Skinboosters?

Skinboosters gradually increases elasticity, improves dryness and dehydration, and reduces the appearance of fine lines and other imperfections on the face, neck, décolletage, and hands. The results are natural, subtle, and long-lasting.

The HA molecule used is smaller than those used for fillers and more spreadable, but, at the same time, larger and more effective than those found in serums.

Once the micro-droplets of the Skinbooster are injected into the skin it has a lifting and hydrating effect. The HA attracts water molecules that rehydrates, plumps and smooth out fine lines.

The Skinbooster Process:

Duration of treatment

60 minutes.

Results

Immediate, with continued improvement over the next month.

Downtime

Minimal with slight bruising and swelling for a few days after the procedure.

Maintenance

Three sessions booked a month apart. Thereafter a follow-up treatment can be done every six months to maintain the results.
